NKOTB

When we started CER last year, one of the main goals was to inspire co-workers, family, and friends to start their own exercise regimens; maybe even compete in a race or two.  One fellow CONSOL employee has accepted the challenge and will join our other new members in representing the team this season.  Dave Francis is a 29 year-old Operations Accountant for the West Virginia Gas Operations group.  Dave lives in Bridgeport, West Virginia and plans to do a number of 5k and 10 k races this year.  As Dave will find out, the threat of public failure while wearing a fancy new shirt is a strong incentive to train hard.

No stranger to competitions, hard training, or fancy shirts, Adam Anderson is a 38 year-old Category 1 cyclist and a beginner triathlete.  Adam is married to CER athlete Mandy Anderson and will be joining her in triathlons and distance runs this year.  Adam has already set the bar high with his performance in his first half-marathon last month.

Abigail Hayhurst is a 27 year-old teacher from Bridgeport, West Virginia and has been a training partner to the Andersons for several seasons.  Abby is a marathoner and triathlete and hopes to take the CER logo north with her if she qualifies for the Boston Marathon later this year.

Scott House is a Masters Division mountain biker and road cyclist from Fairmont, West Virginia.  Scott was in a ton of races last season and looks to do even more 2013.  One of Scott’s main goals is to qualify for the USAC national mountain bike championships at Bear Creek, Pennsylvania.

Rob Linger joins CER for his first season of official road bike racing.  Rob is a member of the Fairmont Flyers cycling group and will compete in the ABRA series all over the region.  The picture below may or may not be Rob, but the epic 'stache warranted inclusion in this post.

Rounding out our team this year is another member of the Fairmont Flyers, William Reese.  William is still in high school but has already seen success with two wins and two second-place finishes last season in the ABRA Junior division.

More detailed biographies for the new kids, as well as bios for the rest of us, will be posted soon (assuming the weather stays cold and snowy).
